Use examples that support the claim rather than decorate it. Reserve final minutes for agreement, verb tense, missing words and punctuation. A shorter coherent response is stronger than a long text whose argument changes halfway through.
Build a personal list of recurring errors from reviewed essays. Rewrite the sentence containing each error and state the rule in plain language. Learn the vocabulary of reasoning
Language preparation should also cover the words that govern analytical tasks: increase versus percentage-point change, at least versus exactly, unless, only if, sufficient, except and cannot be concluded. A candidate may understand the mathematics but answer the wrong relationship because a qualifier was skimmed.
Use the official programme sample to collect unfamiliar instruction phrases. Explain each in simpler English, then solve fresh questions containing the same concept. This is legitimate vocabulary work; reproducing or seeking recalled secure items is neither necessary nor reliable.
When practising numerical analysis in English, label units and restate the question before calculating. For logical questions, verbalise the transformation. These routines reduce the burden on working memory and make it easier to separate a language misunderstanding from a reasoning error.
Check external proof requirements independently
An internal level assessment can inform admissions, but it should not be assumed to waive all other English evidence. Open the current programme admissions page and list accepted certificates, minimum levels, exemptions and submission dates if they apply. Note whether a result must be available at application, admission or enrolment.
If your school instruction language may qualify for an exemption, verify the required documentation. Do not rely on the fact that classes were “mostly in English” without checking the definition Esade uses. When a certificate result is pending, keep its reporting timeline separate from the admissions-test appointment.
This independent check also prevents the reverse mistake: paying for a certificate that the chosen route does not require. The official programme and applicant portal should control the decision. Ask admissions when the published rule does not match your educational record.
Manage concentration across the full assessment
The English component follows demanding reasoning work in many programme versions. Include that transition in at least one rehearsal. Plan food, hydration and sleep before the appointment, and practise drafting when slightly mentally tired rather than only at your freshest hour. The goal is not exhaustion training; it is confidence that the writing routine still functions late in the session.
During the assessment, reset at the section boundary. Read the new rules, especially the statement about penalties. For the essay, spend a small fixed portion on planning and protect proofreading time. If one word is unavailable, choose a simpler accurate expression instead of freezing while searching for impressive vocabulary.
What happens next after the test?
After submission, the English result joins the broader admission profile. Continue monitoring the portal for any request for an external certificate, placement information or additional document. The internal test should not be treated as final proof unless Esade explicitly says so for your programme and circumstances.
If admitted with a language condition, record the accepted evidence and deadline exactly. Arrange testing and score delivery early enough to handle delays. If no additional condition appears, preserve the admission message and proceed with the remaining enrolment requirements.
The post-test period is also when final school results and other documents become important. Keep the language task in proportion: it is one part of the profile and may lead to a separate condition, but it does not replace an accurate application or completed enrolment. Follow the written decision rather than guessing how your essay was scored.
